Frequently Asked Questions
What size trailer ball do I need?
Depending on the camper you rent, you may need one of two different balls. Our Hiker Trailer uses a Lock-N-Roll style coupler as opposed to a traditional ball. We will provide the coupler needed for towing. The Vintage Boler Camper uses a 2" ball.
What are the tow vehicle requirements?
Your vehicle is required to have a 2" tow reciever and either 4-pin or 7-pin trailer wiring connection. It is also recommended that your vehicle have a tow capacity of at least 1500 lbs.
Which type of trailer electrical connector is required?
Our trailers all use 7-pin wiring harnesses. That being said, we do have adapters to make your 4-pin connection work!
What times are pick-up and drop-off?
Officially, our pickup time is 3pm and our drop off time in 10am. However, you can reach out to us with your travel plans and we do everything we can to accommodate.
Do the trailers have A/C and/or Heat?
Our Hiker Trailer Mid-Range Camper does not have A/C or Heat; it is very well insulated. The Vintage Boler Camper has an onboard heater that can be used with shore power or a generator; it does not have A/C.
Where should I go?
We get asked this a lot. The Southwest United States is an excellent place to camp and explore. Typically, we like to recommend trips to Southern Utah, Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks are a must.
Are pets allowed in the trailers?
Absolutely! We're pet lovers and have to bring our fur babies with us everywhere. Just be sure to clean up any accidents.
Do you have a tow vehicle available for rent?
We do not at the moment. If you're in need of a tow vehicle, we recommend Enterprise Truck Rentals.
Do you have a rooftop tent available for rent?
We do not have any roof top tents available for rent at the moment. We do have a spare Coleman ground tent available for rent.
Do you offer roadside assistance?
Yes, roadside assistance is available for all of our rentals for $15 per day. Select the option for roadside during the booking process.
How much do the trailers weigh?
At Little Bear Outdoors, our focus is on easily towable, LIGHTWEIGHT trailers. All of our units weigh less than 1500 lbs. For specifics on each trailer, please see details at booking.
Can I tow your camper trailers with my car?
Definitely, maybe! The reason we chose to focus on small trailers is so people with smaller vehicles can enjoy the conveniences of a trailer while camping. Just be sure your vehicle has a 2" receiver hitch. We also recommend a towing capacity of 1500 lbs.
Is there a minimum length of rental?
We have a 2 night minimum rental, but you're going to want to keep it longer than that!
Do you have discounts for Veterans and active military members?
Yes we do! Please email us at email@example.com so we can create your custom quote. Thank you for your service!
I’ve never towed anything, what should I expect?
Although all of our trailers are lightweight and relatively easy to tow, there are a few things to keep in mind. Braking takes longer, go slower and look ahead. Accelerating also takes longer, plan your maneuvers accordingly. Turns need to be taken wider. Backing up takes practice, it can help to have a spotter. OVerall, if you obey the rules of the road and maintain a defensive driving mindset, you'll be fine!
What’s the best way to get in contact with you?
The best way to contact us is via email. Reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Do you have a shop I can visit to see your teardrop trailers in person?
Unfortunatley, we don't have a shop at the moment. If you'd like to set up a time to see any of our trailers, contact us directly and we'll do our best to accommodate.
Will I be able to tow a Little Bear trailer rental with my vehicle?
We cannot confirm the details of your rental agreement. From our experience, it's best to disclose all of your intentions with a rental up front. The best place to rent a tow vehicle is Enterprise Truck Rentals. You may also be able to find some tow vehicles on Outdoorsy.com
Do you have any trailers for sale?
Little Bear Outdoors is strictly a rental company; however, we will occasionally sell pre-owned rental units. We also have strategic partners in the industry who are manufacturers and sellers. Please contact us so we can help you get in touch with the right people to get the trailer of your dreams!
